About Christi

Hewn from the mud of - then thrown and fired* in - the forges of the Scottish Highlands, Christi MacPherson is a photographic artist now based in Fife. His work is entirely led by contemporary archaeological thinking and ranges all the way from documentary landscape to still-life combined with prose.
Since finishing his photographic degree in Derby in the mid 90s he has had solo shows in Inverness, Dunfermline and Edinburgh. Christi also has shown in the Retina Scottish International Festival and the Patriothall Galery in Edinburgh.
In the middle of this yawningly large period of time, he spent well over a decade as a graphic, multimedia and interface designer. Something that he’s forever surprised to see influence his work in myriad subtle ways
Now, he is studying for a remotely taught MA in Photography that has transformed his practice and changed his life immeasurably. This blog, at least up to its submission in December 2025, will be focussed on telling the story of the development of his Final Major Project, currently (April '25) in the planning stage.
